Q: Can I digitize my old movies, photos, and slides at the library?

The Johnson County Genealogical Society is launching a Memory Lab at the Central Resource Library starting April 3. The Memory Lab support library patrons in digitizing documents, photos, slides, negatives, and movies. The Lab is open to members of the public ages 18+ by appointment only. To make an appointment, go to jcgsks.org.

A Memory Lab volunteer will be available during the 2.5 hour appointment. The volunteer will explain how to use the equipment and provide other support as necessary. Users can currently digitize photographs, slides, negatives, 8 mm film, super 8 movies, and documents.

More information can be found at the genealogy desk at the Central Resource Library and under the Memory Lab tab on the Johnson County Genealogical Society website
