Q: What is the sales tax for my city in Johnson County?

The Kansas Department of Revenue has an online Kansas Sales and Use Tax Address Tax Rate Locator.  You can look up your tax rate by address or zip code, and retailers can register for access to the department's tax databases. After you look up your tax rate by address or zip code, you can see the break-down by jurisdiciton. To do so, choose the "See All Jurisdictions and Rates for this zip code" button at the bottom.

Once the tax rate is determined, persons or businesses can use a bracket card for a given tax rate percentage to compute combined state and local sales tax.  For example, if the city's tax rate is 8.5%, use the bracket card for 8.50% from the list.
