I'm tired of all the music I listen to. I like jazz and classical mostly. But I occasionally listen to some popular stuff. Jeff Buckley is my guy! Anyway, what can the library offer me to bolster my music collection/consumption/obsession?

We have all kinds of options for you!

First of all, if you're not familiar with our Listen Local blog, see what it's all about here:

http://www.jocolibrary.org/we-recommend/listen-local

On Listen Local, we are featured the finest Kansas City area songwriters and musicians, with interviews with the artists as well as song/video selections.

We also feature free access to the Naxos Music Library and Naxos Music Library Jazz. You can stream and listen to TONS of different Jazz and Classical selections (including the ENTIRE Blue Note library). Listen here:

The library also has a wide assortment of CDs, box sets, and live DVDs you can check out and enjoy. Search our webpage for any artist or album you would like, in addition to fan and sound-alike lists. And if you're a Johnson County resident and the Library doesn't own it, we can try to borrow it from another library system using our Interlibrary Loan service here:

Lastly, are you familiar with AllMusic.com? It's one of the resources for discovering new music and artists I've found.
