Q: Is the Library building new buildings?

Yes! The Johnson County Library is in design phase for two locations: Monticello and Lenexa City Center. For additional details on Monticello development and construction in western Shawnee:

Construction should take about 18 months, and we plan to open late in the year, 2018.

The new Library is in design phase. We’re preparing to break ground later in 2017, but we’re still confirming those plans. Construction should take about 18 months, and we plan to open soemtime in the year, 2019.
