I already returned this library item. Why is it still showing on my account with an overdue fine?

Thank you for so diligently monitoring your account!  While we are generally able to process your items the same day you return them, it can take up to 24-48 hours, especially after a weekend or holiday closing.  Audiovisual items may take longer since we manually check to make sure all discs and cases are present.

Fines: Please note, we back-date all items in the system so that you are not charged any undue overdue fines.  Once we check your items back in, your account balance will be updated accordingly.

Missing pieces: If you returned a CD, DVD, videogame, or other item with a wrong or missing disc/case, the item will continue to be checked out on your account until all the correct pieces are matched together.  We do this because we cannot lend the item to another patron until the set is complete.

Contact us: If it has been at least 48 hours since you returned your items, or if you returned a group of items and one or two are still showing on your account, please contact us to investigate.
