Yes, we do! Hands-on classes are held at the Central Resource Library's Learning Lab. Some of the classes require registration as space is limited.  If you want to just drop by and ask a question about your device check out our Tech Tuesdays.

The Johnson County Library also offers online computer classes on almost every tech topic imaginable. Do you want to learn Word or Excel?  How about learning how to sell things on Ebay, create a Facebook page or set up a Twitter account?  Maybe you just got a MacBook and need some essential training on Mac's operating system.  Do you want to learn Photoshop, Quickbooks or Blender? The list goes on and on!

Classes are free and you can access them with your library card and PIN from our eLearning page.  If you are a beginner the best place to start is If you are already a computer user, has over 1000 classes!  If you want to take a traditional online class complete with an instructor, homework and tests, check out the computer classes offered through Universal ClassLearning Express is another resoure providing video instruction that make you feel like you are in the classroom.

What are the advantages of studying online?  Convenience!  Take a class over your lunch hour or in the evening after the kids are in bed or on the weekends.  There's no need to commute somewhere, hunt for a parking spot and schlep your way to class in all kinds of weather.  Did I mention the classes are free?  What do you have to lose?

Remember, it takes time and effort to become proficient on the computer.  Keep practicing and you'll get there!  Our librarians are happy to show you how to access our eLearning resources.

There are also other sites in the metro area that offer computer instruction.  Please contact them directly for detailed information including cost, registration, dates and times.
